School Council

15th February - Today we met outside to look at the new seating in our outdoor classroom. We discussed ideas we could use the area for and the children helped to position the seating and then tested it out.  They are now tasked with the job of ensuring the seats are only sat on and not climbed on too.

1st February - All children were involved in creating ideas of twhat they will wear on Express Yourself Day to decorate our letter.

27th January - The school council came with lots of great ideas. Here they are:

  • Can the children think of the ways in which they are different to others?

Different clothes, coloured hair, voices, languages, skin, names, personalities, hobbies and they enjoy playing different things

  • What could you wear that day to be different?

PJs, swimming costume, dressing gown, football kit, favourite outfit, sparkly clothes, colourful clothes, dress up, superheroes

  • What would your class like to do on Express Yourself Day to celebrate their differences

Talk in the hall, competition, a celebrate your differences party or fashion show, songs and games, people outlines to add differences ideas, balloons, listen to songs different people like and play a game they like, children tell each other something which is special about them, try different foods and drink, talent show.

17th January - The school council met to discuss express yourself day.  They were tasked with sharing ideas with their class and finding out what their class would like to do to celebrate our differences.

2nd December - Some members of the school council helped to write Christmas cards for our school community.

12th November - Our school councillors drew pictures linked to Children in Need to help to decorate the letter going home to tell people about what we are doing for Children in Need this year. I'm sure patents will agree they did a super job.

15th October - The school councillors helped at the Harvest Festival

7th October - We discussed ideas for the Harvest Celebration Assembly and our councillors were encouraged to share ideas with class for a class contribution to the assembly. It was agreed the councillors would collect and sort food contributions.

24th September - Meet & Greet and Photos for ID Badges

Thank you to all of the Y1 and Y2 children who applied to be a school councillor.  On Monday 20th September all of the applications were shared with the class.  The class then voted for their school councillors.  The school councillors will attend meetings with myself to discuss ideas they have for school.
