Spring Term 2021
In science we have been observing the signs of winter and have enjoyed getting ice to melt releasing items frozen inside. In forest schools the children were challenged with building a warm and cosy nest for a mouse, on the ground. They were encouraged to think about the properties of the materials they were using.
The children really enjoyed Science week- they conducted a number of experiments with gummy bears and cress. We also observed tadpoles as they began their transformation into frogs.
While working on measures in maths we used the opportunity to practice our weighing skills and make some balance buns for Easter. The children carefully had to balance each ingredient against the weight of the egg.
The children enjoyed taking part in science week. They conducted experiments with gummy bears, cress and flowers. We also observed some tadpoles in the early stages of their transformation into frogs.
