We spend lots of time working on both fine and gross motor skills to prepare our children for writing. The children have daily sessions focusing on these skills and throughout the year will do; Dough Disco, Squiggle While you Wiggle, and Pen Disco. We also prioritise fine and gross motor skills in our provision areas e.g. woodwork area, busy fingers area, easel, opportunities to cross the midline, balance bikes and daily outdoor play to list a few. 

When the children a ready, we learn handwriting using the rhymes from our phonics scheme, Little Wandle. These will be shared with you during the Autumn term.
