    Fri 22 Oct 2021

Today we welcomed Sycamore Class Parents to find out what Sycamore Class have been busy with. We enjoyed finding out about their work on Black History Month. The children talk openly about their dreams for the world after learning about Martin Luther King. They shared their work on Rosa Parks too. Great work Sycamore Class your work on equality made me feel very proud of you!

  • Harvest Celebration Assembly

    Fri 15 Oct 2021

On Friday morning we celebrated Harvest with a whole school Assembly and collected food donations for York Food Bank. For our EYFS pupils this was their first assembly experience. They came in sensibly and delivered their donations to the school councillors and then sat beautifully at the front of the hall. It was lovely to see the joy on their faces as the other pupils shared their Harvest Song or Poem. Beech class sang beautifully about 'Conkers', Sycamore Class shared their fun 'Beans' song, Willow Class did a fabulous job of reciting their Harvest poem and Oak and Birch Class sang a Harvest Song together which didn't quite go to plan but we all enjoyed just the same.

As usual our parent community did not disappoint and there was an array of food gifted to the Food Bank. Thank you so much I'm quite sure that your generous donations will be gratefully received.

  • Walk to School Week

    Mon 11 Oct 2021

This week is national walk to school week and we would love as many of you as possible to take part. We encourage all forms of ‘Human Power’ so cycling and scooting are included as well as walking.

Children love walking and cycling to school. It helps keep them fit and healthy. Reducing the number of cars makes the outside of school safer and cuts harmful air pollution which children are more susceptible to. Of course we realise some of our families have to get to school by car but maybe you could consider parking a little further away from school and walking the last few minutes?

    What’s next?

All you need to do is encourage your child(ren) to cycle, walk or scoot to school on as many days as possible during the event, and join them on their way.
